Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb Potatoes See notes
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher salt or sea salt
  • ¾ teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil optionally, use melted butter or ghee

Instructions

  • Start by chopping the potatoes into 1-inch cubes. You can leave the skins on.
  • Soak the potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This is an additional step to get rid of excess starch from the potatoes. I recommend you do not skip this step, as it helps to crisp up the potatoes very well.
  • After 30 minutes, drain the water and pat dry the potatoes well.
  • In a mixing bowl, add the potatoes and all the seasonings, along with the olive oil. Toss and mix well until the potatoes are well-coated in the seasonings and oil.
  • Preheat your air fryer at 400 F for 5 minutes (I am using an Instant Vortex, that was preheated for 5 minutes)
  • Place the potatoes in a single layer in the basket of your preheated air fryer. Try not to overcrowd the basket.
  • Air fry at 400 F for 15 minutes. Halfway through, take out the lasket and flip the potatoes or shake the basket so that the potatoes brown evenly on all sides.

Notes

Potatoes - Use any variety of potatoes, I have used red and yellow medium potatoes for this recipe. You can use Russet potatoes, which crisp up really well.
